The integration of artificial intelligence technologies into academic research has created new challenges for scholarly publishing. As large language models (LLMs) like ChatGPT, Claude, and others have become increasingly sophisticated, academic journals have been forced to develop policies regarding AIgenerated content in research papers and academic manuscripts. These policies address fundamental questions about authorship, disclosure requirements, and the appropriate boundaries of AI usage in scholarly publishing. The emergence of powerful generative AI tools has prompted significant concern within the academic community about potential misuse, including plagiarism, fabrication of content, and diminished research quality.
